چکیده

Aim. To determine morphological and morphometric changes in the structure of mucous membrane large intestine their relationship with content short-chain volatile fatty acids fecal calprotectin patients inflammatory bowel disease. Materials methods. We examined 68 disease, including 30 women 38 men aged 20–66 years, 55 were ulcerative colitis 13 – Crohn’s Histological examination focused on intestine. Determination feces was performed using gas chromatography. Calprotectin measured samples by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results. Significant correlations found between epithelial disruption crypt architecture, infiltration density, histological activity. The higher degree inflammation severe course combined a lower level tissue nonspecific protection, which detected number goblet cells, eosinophilic neutrophilic leukocytes. There decrease concentration butyric acid disease compared controls, but more significant observed colitis. data have confirmed association acids, coprofiltrate, evidenced presence low (r = -0.412; levels severity 0.589; P 0.001), atrophy 0.458; ? < 0.05), density 0.434; 0.05). Conclusions. All are characterized specific picture, reflected different degrees inflammation. Morphometric parameters accurately show atrophic coprofiltrate.

Lack of Association between Interleukin 23R (IL-23R) rs10889677 Polymorphism and Inflammatory Bowel Disease Susceptibility In an Iranian Population

Background: Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), which include ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease (CD), are inflammatory disorders that affect the gastrointestinal tract. A combination of inflammatory cytokines has an important role in IBD development. Genome-wide association studies have shown that polymorphisms in the interleukin-23R gene (IL-23R) increase susceptibility to IBD....

Extraintestinal Manifestations of Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) mainly affects the gastrointestinal system but is associated with various chronic diseases of other organs that are jointly called extraintestinal manifestations (EIM). In some of these disorders, onset and clinical manifestations are associated with the course of the intestinal disease while in others they are independent of the intestinal disease. The former i...

Extraintestinal Manifestations of Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Extraintestinal manifestations (EIM) in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are frequent and may occur before or after IBD diagnosis. EIM may impact the quality of life for patients with IBD significantly requiring specific treatment depending on the affected organ(s). They most frequently affect joints, skin, or eyes, but can also less frequently involve other organs such as liver, lungs, or panc...
